Gluten Free

VIA Downer offers an extensive menu of tasty gluten free items. All of our signature pizzas and pastas are available gluten free, as well as several appetizers. Gluten-free items are $2 extra, and please allow for additional preparation time  - we prep GF dishes separately to avoid cross-contamination.

If we have a gluten free option for a menu item, our GF symbol (to your right) will appear next to it.

We make every effort to keep gluten free products free of cross-contamination. However, gluten free pizzas are cooked in the same oven as traditional wheat-based pizzas, so the possibility exists for limited contact with wheat flour during the baking process. Because of this, we do not recommend this product for anyone who may be severely allergic to gluten.

In addition, we encourage our guests to always confirm with the server (as food is delivered) that you were indeed served a gluten free product – they will always be served on a red-rimmed plate!

  • Molly’s Gluten Free Bakery: Located in Pewaukee, Molly’s has the best GF bread we’ve sampled, and so that’s what we serve our customers. Check out Molly’s website for everything they have to offer, including fabulous desserts!
  • Lakefront Brewery: Milwaukee’s own Lakefront is the first in the nation to produce a Certified Gluten Free brew – New Grist – and so far the only brewery to pull it off. Lots of beers claim to be GF, and most of them also don’t taste very good. New Grist is delicious and safe to drink even if you have Celiac Disease. What’s better than that?

Gluten free pizza crust ingredients:
Tapioca starch, filtered water, rice flour, organic extra virgin olive oil, potato starch, eggs, egg whites, sugar, contains less that 2% of: yeast, salt, pectin, organic de-fatted soy flour, soy lecithin, xanthan gum, gum Arabic, organic guar gum
